Hello dear Fitliner & Fans,

… Following a defeat, you do never really know how you should start again … I took part in the hardest Race in Europe … it justifiably bears its name … thus nobody succeeded in my age yet … also I was the oldest at this Race … and it might really have come a little bit too early for me … not because I was not enough trained … in no way … though because you need to be well experienced to be able to go optimally through this Race … you need experience … also you need the best of training in the mountains …
After 20 years of extreme running, it was my first big international Race … and having said that , there is so much to improve … as an example … drive down the mountain passes much faster … for my case , it ends up at 55 .. the best drive down was approx.. 80 … as a matter of fact , I lost so much time a.s.o. … it was not up to the Crew … the Crew was on TOP … I personally underestimated this Race … it has been like a punition for me … it remembers me 10 years back at Badwater – Race USA … at which I had also to accept one of my first biggest defeats … therefore as you can see, I am still there … during this Race … somewhere .. somehow.. I run out of time … and I would never have succeeded within the permitted time … DNF … those three letters of the alphabet which mostly hurt a sportsman … subsequently I have now also failed to qualify for the RAAM – 2013 … which hurts me twice as much … though when you have failed then you have to stand up … and this is what I will do ….
See you soon
Achim….

Dear Fitliner , dear Fans,
after 17 weeks of hard training including my participation in 3 preparation races I exceeded the 13,000 km mark. That’s an average of 764 km – not too bad :-)
The next days I will reduce my training in order to get ready on time for the Race Around Austria just on time: 15 August 2012, 10.36 h Those 2,200 km with an altitude of 30,000 m have to be finished in 5 days. www.racearoundaustria.at
I feel great and a super crew is supporting me and of course my Fitline products which I have been taking for 12 years and which have never disappointed me.
Have a look at: www.heukemes.fitline.com
It’s a hot competition, the RAA, all other competitors are 20 – 25 years younger than I. But: “It only ends when it is finished”. And I feel really great. Join me and send mails or messages, as this is motivating.
And we will be on  air again with: Hello Germany! Moderated by the same person as during the c2c in the States.
The highest point of the race will be the: “Hoch Tor” – 2504 m  at the “Grossglockner”. See the photo from Mai – zero degrees Celsius.

See you soon,
Achim

P.S. –
For my Austrian Fitliners ….. we will see us at the start and en route ;-)
