In order to strengthen the contacts that I have initiated already from Germany
and to introduce my new project to more institutions I travelled to New York on
September 5.
Markus, Karla and Jonas Schuh, “FitLiners” that live in Greenwich close to NY
had me stay at their home, helped me with the language barrier and Karla
supported me trough her work for the UN.
The easiest to solve was the sponsoring for the bike trip. The project created
such a strong excitement that even several bike manufacturers were ready to
sponsor me with a bike and I finally met John Michelotti (founder of “Flag of
Honor”) who had already sent me one of his flags to Europe and will coordinate
the funds that the project will raise.
Thanks to Ariane Hundt who is the creator of the Brooklyn Bridge Boot Camp and
who has a huge media attention in the US, media coverage is given. She was also
immediately excited about the project and offered spontaneous support.
Great for me to talk to someone in my mother language not needing a translator.
Our first meeting was when she held one of her Brooklyn Bridge Boot Camps where
I was a part of the training group.
I had the opportunity to introduce my project to a lot of people troughout the
10 day and the comment was nearly always “crazy”. So the first steps are made to
make the impossible possible and be the first human being ever to cross the US
twice.
Now we go on with the organisation and of course with the training. And trough
the support of PM-International the project is financially backed up !
