Hi, dear Fitliners and fans,
after more than 5.000 km, which I travelled by car for a change, I am back home. During my tour I visited 15 Direct Selling Centers (DSC) all over Germany and Austria.
No matter if young or old more that 1500 people followed eagerly the presentation of my experience during my tour through
The first person in the world ever finishing a double crossing of the continent – New York – San Diego – 6000 km by bike – San Diego – New York – 5000 km running. Coast2coastandback.
It was exhausting but also interesting. I learned to know a lot of people and had the chance to have great talks. Taking all my spectators with me on my long journey – 11000 km in 2 hours ![]()
The feedback was solely positive. I was very glad about it. Even great sportsmen, who generally are more reserved, were impressed. Some of them will now try out the Fitline products. I already know the result ![]()
As we had nice weather I was able to continue my training during the trip and could make a couple of 1000 km by bike. All for my next big goal: the Race Across America (RRAM) in 2013. The longest and hardest bike race in the world. 5000 km across the American Continent.
But before I can participate I have to qualify. Therefore I will start in the Race Across Austria (RAA). The longest and hardest bike race in Europe. 2200km distance – 28000 m altitude which has to be finished in 5 days. The start will be on 25 August 2012 in St. Georgen/Austria.
During my presentation in Austria I was interviewed by an Austrian broadcast in Linz were I was their guest for about 1 hour. Here I could talk about my chances in the race. Furthermore I met the organizer of the RAA, Thomas Hoelzl. Everybody is quiet curious how a 60 year old man will manage the challenge. They will see!
There is still a lot to be done but I am on the ball. In May I will make a test ride in Austria, 2200 km in 12 days. Just to learn to know the big climbs and will take them several times.
Surely I will take pictures as there will be no time during the race. Afterwards I will have 3 more preparation races and then I should be fit for the RAAM. These challenges are won mentally anyway. And I have a fantastic crew supporting me, all Fitliners: Markus, Norbert & Frank, as well as the girls Gaby & Katja. You see, it should all work out!
I will give you another update in May, so long, take care and c.u.
Achim
